Anyone have/tried the Madness motorworks intercooler?

 

Looks like a Wagner, which isn't a bad charge cooler, but the Helix intercooler has shown better and more stable temp drops while also keeping pressure differentials at nearly nil. Not to mention the Helix fits with ZERO need to trim or clearance.

Both are going to be on the top end of the market though, many others are made with cheap cores and horrible flow characteristics.

 

Have you guys done testing on intercoolers? How do you come up with this info?

 

Helix has done extensive testing, and multiple revisions to their design to create what they and many others believe to be the best intercooler for the second gen cars. There is a whole write up on the process and results on their website blog.

Many of the eBay intercoolers use cheap cores (large fins with space enough to fit a screwdriver through) the Helix cooler as well as the Wagner use a tighter wound, heavier core, not to mention the flow dynamics of a smooth curvature vs the end tanks of the eBay brands.

There is more to an intercooler than just being bigger than the stock unit..

 

I think I will go for the Helix. Will need to look for a local shop to do installation.

 

I like the Helix, but I am wondering if the Wagner Competition is worth the extra $...
