hi all, i’ve had my 2020 clubman for a while now, lowered quite a bit on coilovers (<2 inches from ground to front bumper). while on a drive yesterday, i hit an exposed manhole very hard, but thought i was fine due to the fact that i did not see any oil visible. after a little driving, i got a low oil pressure warning as well as overheating and a little bit of engine ticking. it turns out that the pan has a tiny hole, enough for oil to seep out maybe a drop every second, and that it was trapped on top of the skid plate (?). i have not been able to find any diys of the oil pan replace on 3rd gen minis in general, is it something that can be done by myself? is there any other solution to this? thank you in advance!
sidenote: was not sure where to put this as it applies to other models with the b48 as well…
Well don't drive it until you get this worked out... an obvious statement I hope. After that is sorted I would look at protection. I have a set of KW v3 coilovers ready to be installed and I want to also put this on.
I put a crack in the sump of my 2020 Clubman. When I traded the car for a 2024 Clubman, I ordered one of the M7 sump guards and just installed it last week. It is a very nice piece and installed fairly easily and gives me better confidence that the sump is protected. .

I noticed that this M7 plate covers the front center jack point. Can you just put the jack right under the middle there without it bending it up?
I have a set of quickjack lifts and that uses those side points. But if I have to lift it up a bit in the front to get the quickjack under I still have to use that front point.
Yep i would not jack on that mid point, might bend it. Can you get it from the rear jack point, i think its center rear, check the owners manual as the picture i have is for the F55 F56, not the F54 or F60
Or
Also maybe some ramps to get it up to slide them under?
I only use the side jacking points and the replies from ECS are what I follow. If one uses the center jacking support I believe it would dent the M7 under the sump guard.
Sorry for the issues. Our CS department is down some employees, also just had a phone system update. You can always reach out to me here. Sounds like something messed up with M7 speed and the ship label. Let me contact them. PM me the order number.
Wild recommendation, but on the cheap fix for such a small hole.
JB high heat metal weld, cured with a heat gun. Grind the metal surface and degrease very well before hand. Blob on outside and a thin schmeer inside the pan.
It's closed a thumb sized hole caused by a crash on my race car's (318is BMW E36) oil pan for 5 seasons now... Well over 100 hours of racing, and 2 engines later. We keep a back up of course. But it was a $15 permeant fix or a $850 used oil pan .
