Brake Pad Front Worn sensor get loose from driving on gravel road?

I replaced the brakes+rotors+sensors 2 months ago. Today I got brake light on. The OBD2 tool showed me "Brake Pad Front Worn 5E5C" code. In fact, the day before I was driving on a gravel road. Could the sensor become loose or something due to the shaking when driving on a gravel road? Or is this nonsense and perhaps the sensor is faulty?

Could have wiggles loose or popped out of place and hit the rotor. Biggest thing i have seen is the plug connection comes loose where it plugs into the main harness, you have to snap them in on the long plug all the way down.

  • I found
tutorial and seems I can try checking or eventaully replacing the sensor myself. Assuming the cable is still intact on both ends, should I just try disconnecting and re-connecting it back?
  • Also, I have new REAR brake pad sensor. Can I use it to replace the front one? They visually seem identical, but I'd like to ask here just in case.
