I replaced my original turbo after close to 100k. I bought a JMTC K03 40mm.

I am just tied up with work and my brain is fried after changing the thermostat housing, water pump and oil sender.

Is the JMTC essentially a factory replacement or upgrade being that it is 40mm? I was suggested a 38mm option but chose to go slightly bigger. What is the factory size for the oem mini?

 

OEM Cooper S is the 38mm. I believe the JCW is 40mm, and the Borg Warner AirWorks is 41mm.

 

I had the JMTC 40mm installed and it's a big difference . the lag is much less noticeable and it spools much quicker it also is much louder which I love. with the forge turbo blanket there is very little heat. the cold side is just that cold.

​​​​​i don't have a specific tune but the NM module is setting 2 makes 16 lbs boost. with an actual tune for the turbo I imagine 18-20 is realist . the turbo pulls strong through the power band instead of falling flat. the biggest benifit is boost lasts higher in rpms and comes on faster being that is is twin scroll and has a lighter turbine
