Turbo Charger on my Super S 2007 Mini

Hello, First there was a leaking Thermostat Housing which was fixed last week but still I get a humming sound continuing coming from the Turbo Charger, perhaps from the lead-in little pipe. This humming sound has been heard for the last month or so. My brother burnt his hand when he touched this. Wondering whether the Turbo is getting ready to die. The humming may be going on all the time, but is noticeable when I have gone somewhere, returned home and parked the car. It stops after about 5 - 10 min. Note: the problem is probably related to the engine overheating.

that could be your turbo aux water pump (under the oil filter housing).

Thank you! I will mention this to my mechanic when I see him Thursday. Will let you know what he says.

The aux water pump keeps running after engine shutdown to cool the turbo. Normal.

I love that, but one glitch. I never would hear this before. Parking the car in the garage, I would not hear a sound afterwards. Now, am hearing it. Perhaps the turbo charger is getting ready to die, that is, it's getting too hot and hence the sound of the aux water pump kicking in to cool it down? Thank you.
