Ok, so you've part numbers for 3 dash parts and 2 door parts. I would only have to assume that because of the subject matter, they are some specific color??? So what color are they?

That's cool - maybe someday I'll swap the dash to HB (I didn't order it since, although I liked the color, felt the door panels were too much for me, esp along with the lapis interior).

'03 retrofit?

Will the 3-piece '05 colored dash retrofit tin place of the '03 5-piece?

Beautiful!

I'd love to have the red dash but I HATE the red door ovals! As someone said above, it's way too much color. It would cost me at least $200 to strip apart the dash and have the pieces painted. I was trying to figure out the best way to do this just last week.

Thanks!

What do you think the most popular interior color would be for a Cooper S if I were to try and sell the original interior pieces and recoup some of the cost of the $200 new dash... Anthracite, maybe?

I don't think so. The airbag has moved in the 05 so it comes out of the dash topper rather than the dash.

I've Done It

I did order and have installed the three piece dash. I had the door panels painted. I was told that the whole door panel had to be ordered, not just the color parts, and the price was around $800 per door.

Maybe I should clarilfy...

The dash is an easy install, 1 hour labor charge. On the door panels, over 20 plastic welds have to be broken and then re-attached to remove the plastic door part. I've been told on this board that it is possible, but really difficult and the possibility of getting it rattle-free is slim. I personally think that a good paint shop is the way to go on the doors.

Dash

I think that prior to 05 the dash was 5 pieces, rather than 3.

Anybody wanna swap...

Anybody wanna swap door panels with red for door panels with black?

Not only is it too much color, but the shape of the two don't compliment each other. I think either, by itself, would look much better. My MCS is arriving tomorrow in Charleston. Tomorrow! We could do the door panel swap at the Dragon in May. I don't want to swap dash panels, but swapping the entire door panel is a breeze.

Awesome

An all-Jet Black MCS or MCSC with CR dash/door trim (can't get it OEM like this) and chromed interior, and the black and red seats?

It'd look like my grannie's 1955 Plymouth Savoy Awesome. Jimbo
