Should I but such cheap break rotors?

I usually buy my parts on pelicanparts.com. I need to replace my breaks pads and rotors. I found set of rotors on pelicanparts.com for $27 from brand Ate (https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...=4519&DID=5626) . I was wondering why it's so cheap while all other brands are at least twice more expansive. Pelicanparts told me it's goot quality and they're OEM for MBZ (I assume it means Mercedes-Benz), but they fit for Mini Cooper R56 2009 too. Is it safe to buy so cheap rotors or should I go with Zimmermann which is $47?

I also found front+rear pads + rotors from TRQ for $160 which is very attractive. I'm very confused here. Obviously I want to spend as little as I can.

P.S., I'm tryinig to sell my car so I don't think I'll drive it more than half year.

@theateist ,

Seeing as you're not keeping the car and that you're selling it anyways. GO FOR THE CHEAPEST! Let the other buyer worry about buying a set of brakes. Don't waste your money.

Just saying

I bought a set of ATE rotors for my 2003 S and they held up well for quite a few years even though they were inexpensive. ATE is a well know European brand.. The hats were coated so no ugly rust there. I finally changed them out this year because of a pulsating rear brake. Bought rotors from SP Performance and they appear to be quality parts.

Rotors are straightforward cast iron components. It’s hard to imagine screwing that up so I don’t have a problem with off brands. I typically spray paint them anyway. Not much else do I go for off brands though. On engine components, I even struggle with big name brands and will probably go with overpriced dealer components.

Just my two cents,
Pete

I don't get then why would people spend $500+ on brakes if for a daily driving a $150 kit is enough?

Are they painted? Do they have slots milled into them? Are they cross drilled?

Of course the dealer will charge out the wazoo as they have all sorts of other expenses.

Regards,
Peter

https://www.1aauto.com has som nice TRQ sets. The rotors and ceramic pads are very good. Very closr to my Zimmerman / Akebono on my other mini. Way better than the OEM for sure.
