F55/F56 proper city mpg
proper city mpg
started clickin' the button, saw I got 30.1 mpg on gauge I said OH YEH ? filled gas tank to the top, zeroed out trip odo., drove my 2.0 L 300hp hot-tuned, water/methanol inj. mini around for 1/2 a tank, filled it up EXACTLY & BOOM ! got 30.31 mpg on 93 octane. not bad, makes me wonder about Hwy. hafta try that one day, this time around I'll believe clickin' on gauge !

My stock 2023 JCW w/6-speed gets around 26.5mpg around "town". That is mostly on roads with a 45mph speed limit not too many stop lights and me avoiding the worst of the commute time traffic. The only real highway miles I have put on the car were the nearly 900 miles I drove from Loveland CO -- where I bought the car -- to Benton County AR -- where I live. Without getting up and looking through credit card receipts upon which I write down the trip data (and assuming I still have these around from back in late Feb.) seem to recall the mpg averaging 30mpg.
For your car 30mpg is pretty impressive assuming you are not high miling the car.

Being in central Fl. I don't get in that ride w/o putting AC on 70deg. now I am impressed. do you ever click turn-signal stalk button & see ? I'd have to say Renn Haus who hot-tuned my ride deserves the credit for doing an all-around good job.

Are you going only by the in dash MPG gauge, or are you verifying by the calculation method after fill up?
I can average 31 mpg with my stage 2 R55, and peak over 35 mpg on highway runs. These are calculated numbers based on miles driven and gallons used to fill up the tank.

So to clarify, standard stop-go for me has so many lights and stop signs that it takes me 15 minutes to get to a location maybe 6 miles away. Lots of stop. Less fuel-efficient go.

I also manually track my MPG in addition to watching the in-dash stuff; they pretty much match over time, been tracking for years.
Having the AC on easily knocks 2.5 - 3 MPG off. I bought my F56S during a summer month, and was completely confused when my MPG suddenly improved in the fall. I can recreate the variance at will now -- definitely a thing. But if I have less stop-go than the kind I cited, or if I get some highway driving in, MPG improves dramatically. This thing loves the highway.

Don't pay close attention to mine, runs close to normal. People ask about it once in a while, I tell 'em I don't much care, I'm having too much fun on the road.

I put together a spreadsheet of people MPG posted in a coupe places and (not actually calculating). I have a Cooper so focused on that with 13 data points. Seems like Cooper gets about 41USgallons/USMile highway, ball park 35 to 38 US mixed. I only have a couple data points for S. About 33-35 mixed. That said, I have a friend that twice got 41 in an S on a 400 mile highway route I got 42 in my Cooper, so driving style plays a big role.
I keep track on the Fuelly app. I logged almost 100k on my last car and it is cool to see the data. I've had my Mini for 3 tanks now averaging 30mpg with the last tank being 33mpg and that was due to about 1/3 of the tank being a freeway run on cruise control for most of it late night. My normal daily commute is 30 miles, 10 street, 10 freeway 10 canyon road. We also only have 91 here but that's ok, it's still $6 a gallon.
I also use Fuelly. The privacy issues on that app stink for recording service details (all notes are public unless you one at a time turn them to private -- which can't be done on the app, or at least not the iOS app, you have to go to the website to do it). But that said it has useful functionality. I've been using it since long before I got my 2017 F56S; the app is is a good tracker.
We have 93 in my location. I tend to bounce between 27.5 and 28.5 MPG, mixed city/highway but mostly city, sees highway use once a week.
If my Cooper ever sees 41 MPG I'm throwing a party. Even on a pure-highway tank the highest I saw was 38.7, I think. And that was a midtrip read that didn't stick for long. Maybe if I was doing 55 it might hit 41 MPG, but then I'd get run over by one of those Kia rectangles or something else trying to prove it was faster.

Is the Flux capacitor supported by MINI Connect so you can check the date and time in addition to the capacitor's remaining capacity? Or better yet set the date and time remotely using the app?
