Hi all,

I read through a few posts here and got the impression that I would have to look under the driver's seat to check if my car was prewired for satellite radio. I have the seat out and the panel off. I see what appears to be an amplifier, but no loose harness connectors. Does this mean my car is not prewired for satellite? It's a 2010 JCW with the HK system.

My own experience with former 2013 R56 is that the H/K audio has the hardware to receive sat radio broadcasts but must be "flashed" to activate it (plus subscription of course), if not done previously. I did that at my most local MINI dealership at somewhat reduced cost but definitely wasn't free. IIRC, others here have reported a way to do that w/o going to a MINI dealer - perhaps using INPA or NCS Expert?
