Disabling the Outside Air Temp Alert?

Is it possible? I live in a warm weather climate and hear the +37 F alert very infrequently. Since it sounds just like the general system alert tone, my heart skips a beat every time it does come on. I've wandered through the Settings pages but can't find anything related to OAT.

Haven't found a way to disable it. Probably need to use something like BimmerCode to lower the temperature at which the alarm sounds or even disable it.

That 37F alarm -- my 2023 S (and my 2022 BMW) emits -- is a pain. You'd think it was the end of the world. Haven't encountered it yet but with some other cars another end of the world alarm is low windshield washer fluid. Low windshield washer fluid? Gimme a break.

But how will you possibly know that it's cold if the car doesn't tell you?

I've never changed my behavior because of the alarm at 37F, but after 18 years of MINIs it doesn't surprise me anymore.

How do I know it is 37F? Been quite common with a number of cars/vehicles I've owned over the years that have the outside temperature displayed on the dash/instrument cluster. So I know from that.

(Before outside temperature was available a sign it was cold was when drops of water would freeze at the bottom of the outside mirror.)

While driving especially in cold weather I check the outside temperature display every once on a while.

But while I of course pay attention to the outside temperature the alarm when it goes off still catches me a bit off guard. It just seems to me to be rather an over dramatic alarm.

The alarm surprises me because I'm "new" to MINIs (after having been away from MINI since April of 2020 when I sold my JCW) and having gotten my S just Dec 3 of 2022. My BMW does the same thing but I just got it May 31 of last year. While the vehicles I owned before -- and traded in -- had outside temperature display neither one had a 37F alarm. And one vehicle was a M-B.

And even when I owned the JCW where I lived it seldom got down to 37F at least when I was out and about in the JCW.

Now where I live it does get colder but I have the luxury of not having to drive if I don't want to so when the weather gets bad, cold, and there is a chance of freezing conditions with ice/snow, both cars are tucked away in the garage.

So even being out in one of my cars when it gets down to 37F is rare. But circumstances required I take this road trip from AR to CA cold temperatures have been the norm and that 37F alarm sounds at least once a day.
