Rear hatch not opening

2009 R56 S
117,000ish miles
Sunroof
6-speed

So I've had some random unlatching issues. I have replaced both the trunk latch and the release button from ECS. I didn't think the button had anything to do with it but wanted to replace some wiring the previous owner did. There is no manual release under the rear seat.

The open hatch button on the key fobs used to work. Now they do not and I'm not sure why.

What can I troubleshoot get the trunk release to work?

I did find out that the purple / yellow wire also goes to ground, not sure if it should be or not.
So before I install a button to supply +12vdc to the gray / green wire what else can I do?

Thank you

There is another thread here that has quite a bit of information.

I installed a micro switch left the original switch in place.

I think this is it, found in a search

Thank you for the info. I have a brand new switch and it isn't even opening with the use of the key fob. I'm about to just install a switch inside as there should have been from the start.

Yes, its right here

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ing-o-diy.html

Check the herness side as its sounds like something was messed with. Check the pinouts on main harness going into the trunk lid and the latch under the rear lower trim that connects to the latch.

Thanks
Mike
