On the subject of Articles

If you bought the 2/05 R & T. did you read Peter Egan's piece? I haven't read his material for years and years. So here I am with a copy of a magazine that I bought just for the MINI ad. In it is Peter's article. It describes his acquisition of a MCS...going to get it..driving it in the Kettle Moraine area of Wisconsin...comparing it to Britsh cars he's restored..

This is the first and only time a magazine article was spot on to my experience. I learned to drive in the counties he describes..I've made that drive to Door County...I've restored British cars and motorcycles..I question the need for them in view of MINI ownership... It was unbelievable.

I'll treasure this magazine...and all because I started collecting MINI material and bought it for that. I never would have seen it otherwise.

Peter..who despite the nostalgia for Wisconsin is glad he lives..in Denver

I have the magazine - just haven't had a chance to read the article yet....now I can't wait since you said it was so good.

Peter is about the only reason to buy R&T anymore.

Ciao,
I always enjoyed his work...I've not been reading car or motorcycle magazined for many years...when I flipped to his piece I thought "Oh yeah...Peter...I like his work!". When I realized what this piece was about I flipped.

I too have always enjoyed his work. I started reading it back when he first joined R&T, back when I had a subscription. I let my R&T subscription lapse in the late 90's, so it was a treat to get a three voulme set of reprints of all his R&T Side Glances columns thru 2002 for Christmas last year. What an enjoyable way to spend the Christmas Holiday with my in-laws.

Ciao,
