Hi All,

I was wondering what you all thought about octane boosters and if you could recomend any. Reason why I ask this is, the hartge conversion requires 98 octane, and here stateside the best I can get in california is around 91-93. I really want to get the conversion but getting race gas everytime I fill up is a bit unrealistic. I've heared such mixed things about fuel additives and I was hoping for some advice. Thanks

Blake

Techron from Chevron or Klotz racing fuel. The Cooper is rated for fuels from 91 to 98 octane.

See this website. The turbo Regal, Grand National guys have been at this for a while:

Octane Boosters

I have used "Formula 2" many times in my truck with success. You really are "shooting in the dark" with octane boosters if you are unsure of whether or not your ECU is sensing knock on pump gas. Many (modified) high performance fuel injected vehicles have some way for the driver to monitor knock, especially those that are forced induction.
Anyway, I would stray away from Octane boosters in a bottle. They generally only raise points by less than one point per tank. Try locating a gas station listed on the website above that caters in high octane unleaded.
