I would like to delete the sunroof from my order for a 2023 F56 S Iconic build Hardtop. I am currently working on the order so it has not yet been submitted to the factory. Does anyone know how to do this?

My dealer says it is not possible, but other dealers tell me it is possible. I know that sunroofs could be deleted in the past. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

When i ordered my JCW in 2019, I told the salemen to delete the moon roof. There was a credit back for doing so. If your dealer doesn't want to do it, go to another dealer.

 

Are you doing the order online?

 

Have your Motoring Advisor add option code "S0ZMR" to your VO. This will delete the panoramic moonroof.

I thought I'd provide an update in the interest of getting to closure here. After lots of discussions with multiple dealers I confirmed the sunroof cannot be deleted from my F56S build. That was once possible, but no longer. Whether that might change later is anyone's guess.

I was lucky and unlucky. The good news my '22 JCW Iconic came with the sunroof delete( ordered) but I didn't receive a credit. I would rather give up the $500 credit than have a MINI with a sunroof.👍🏻🍺

 

Well that just blows! I guess I was lucky I was able to add S0ZMR to my order back in March. My 23 Iconic SE arrived in July with no sunroof. I did not get any credit for it though.

I very much prefer this as I have always seen these as more trouble than they are worth. Just another source of leaks, squeaks, rattles, and failures. Having it deleted also provides more headroom!

 

I ordered my F56SE late April. I was umming and ahhing between base and signature plus (middle) trim. At that time, ZMR moonroof delete was an option on the plus, but no money back.
While I was being indecisive, my MA told me that at the end of April, Mini would make production changes. The base would be gone, all new cars would have a moonroof. That stopped my indecision. My car showed up 3 months early at the beginning of July, so it may have got bumped so they could clear non-moonroof orders?

As I said to him. "I'm not spending this much money on a car with a bleeping moonroof". I am very tall and also live in a sunbaked state. Yeah, no, just no.

If you are like me, you need to look to used, or hope Mini reintroduces the no-moonroof option.

 

I can confirm the above. I was just at the dealer last week and was told all cars are now standard with moon roof. No option to remove it.

Stopped making manuals and force the moon roof. 2 of the more expensive options (moon roof and auto trans). Great way to force people to spend more if they want a new MINI. I know they have brought back the manual in the 2 door, but I was told it was the same cost as the auto. Manual transmission tend to cost $1000-$1500 less than an auto to build. Just seems like the BMW take over means they are gonna give you the car how they want you to have it and charge as much as possible.

 

Uhhh, BMW have owned the Mini brand since 1994..

I suspect that they are streamlining production to the most popular options. Probably due to recent supply chain and production headaches.

Anyhoo, I got mine! If the new Chinese one is available without moonroof, I may well trade my fairly rare steelroof '23 in.

 

I ordered a 23 jcw 2dr with sunroof delete in November. Had to have salesman go to manager for whatever reason but it is on my build sheet.
