Radio Problem Boost CD w/HK

Ok, an issue popped up the other day.
Driving the other day I was listening to songs via the USB port. Shut the radio off and drove the rest without it.
Went to Jersey shore took out USB and put Phone cord into USB port to charge phone. Wife asked for time and noticed time was not on speedo but did not recognize a problem.
On the way home put songs back in and hit ON button and got nothing. No info on Speedo, nothing. Lights do work as return to home in the dark.
Today noticed no chime when key was in place while checking fuse #23. All fuses okay. Pulled 23 , fuse good but did reinstall. No joy after re-installed.
Did a little research before posting to find previous threads but no answers.

Mini is 2010 R55 Clubman S, Laurel Edition. HK sound system. Mini Boost CD
Owned for 2+ years with never a Radio issue. No leaking, No water by Dash, No Sunroof. Other issues (Timing chain, Valve Stem seals, Gumdrop valves, etc) but never radio.

So anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Good day all. As an update I am going to purchase a replacement radio and have a question.

All fuses are good including the back if the unit. Just wondering if one of the control modules is the culprit and not the radio.
Since the chime is also out along with the entire radio unit does the chime go through the radio?

Does anyone know where the radio unit gets power from? Footwell? etc?

Thanks for any help.

I wouldn’t rush into buying a new radio. Have you had car scanned for fault codes? Charged battery up? (Is it good). As you have no bong for key left in (I assume you mean when drivers door is open), so not sure that dud radio would cause that. There is a Harman Kardon amp / module thing in the boot side behind the trim on filler cap side on R56. Maybe check wires are plugged in ok etc.
Pics below with comments about power supply ans inside the amp unit.

Cool, Thanks for the reply. S to answer:
1) Scanned , no issues.
2) Battery fully charged. Not new but never had issue and voltage is fine.
3) Door Chime is out. Time and Radio bar is out below speedo. Worked fine then poof, nada. I was trying to find out if door chime goes through radio wiring and same "module" somewhere in car.
4) Car is an R55 and not sure where amp is.

I did take my radio apart trying to see if anything looked out of place (burn or scorch marks) or something to let the smoke out. Nothing apparent so, due to time constraint I bit the bullet and went for a new unit. Tried a Facebook guy in Philly. He had a unit but his had different serial numbers and when I questioned if it would work, he balked and said I should have "checked with Mini". Pass. Then talked to my regular mechanic and he got me one identical to mine, all numbers on radio are identical, except for date of manufacturer.

Installed last night and all good and now working. So radio was "bad". Maybe I'll spend sometime in the future but for now I'll just drive it.
