Considering a 2023 S Hatch back- DCT question

I’m considering a 2023 hatchback and was curious if the dual clutch automatic was reliable. I’ve had a 2008 and 2014/with the auto and no problems. Has the DCT had any problems? Thanks in advance.

I was researching this same matter a while back and didn’t come across anything alarming. The MINI DCT is made by Getrag and is also used in other applications such as the BMW 2-series Active Tourer. As a standard rule of thumb with wet clutch DCTs, ignore the “lifetime fill” transmission fluid and service it regularly. VW learned that lesson long ago with their DSG and ever since they’ve recommended a service interval (can’t remember exactly what it is, maybe every 40,000 miles or something).

From my experience, the dual clutch automatic is solid.
