Awe s-flo intake installed / questions about exhaust noise
Hello all,
I am new here, but not new owner. I recently bought out my F56 JCW from lease, and my first mod was AWE S-FLO intake.
I dunno why AWE discontinued this awesome looking intake, it took me almost 2 weeks to find a place where they had this in stock.
Installation was straight forward as instruction, It took me about half an hour to install.
I know intakes don't do much in hp increase, but I'm totally satisfied with the turbo spooling noise
Before the installation
YAY! new intake! After the installation! Yay!
So, my question now is, do these intakes increase in noise from the exhaust? I removed both resonator and muffler few months after I got the car back in '19 and it seems got louder after installing the intake (or it's just me).
I have the S-flo, too, and I also wonder why AWE discontinued it! I don’t think it affects the exhaust in any way. I suspect what’s going on is that the combination of the two sounds creates a new resonance not previously heard when you had just the exhaust.
I thought the same thing, but it seems like my car makes louder pops and bangs, it almost sounds like AK when I floor in sport mode. Could it be more air sucking into the engine, perhaps?
Yep they dropped the MINI stuff, kind of stinks, but thats the way it goes. we have other options. and aFe has newer intakes now, not CF but in plastic. The Eventuri and Dinan are two good options for Carbon Fiber.

I was actually looking the aFe from your website, but I somehow found this intake from another vendor. So I decided to get this intake from other vendor and recently ordered NM power module from ECS.
If I do need to replace the intake in the future, I will definitely cosider getting Eventuri.
