Did not drive the Clubman much in the winter. During that time one of the hoses to the sunroof came of and promptly filled the car with water. Behind the seat there is a lot of moisture in the car. Are there floor drains in this anywhere that can be opened to get water out of trapped cavities in the floor or is it just a case of hit it with a wet vac?

 

vac and hair dryer. I drilled holes in the floorboard of my '62 TR roadster so I didn't have to run up the top all the time, I'm kinder to my R52. Hard tops are harder to dry out.

 

Used my shop vac and heat gun. Dry now. I was hoping for a fast way to get anything that was below the carpet. Last week have been leaving the windows open with the car in the garage to let it air out too. Figure the air flow will only help the situation.

 

consider removing the door sill trim from one door so you can check under the carpet. the carpet is backed in heavy plastic to keep water out … but that can keep water IN too.

 

I pulled the carpet back on both sides. Looks ok from what I can see. Also removed the passenger seat since there was a plastic panel that could be removed there. No water to be seen.

 

Just to report back. After I thought I removed all of the water I noticed the front carpet was slightly damp. Car was sitting in the garage with windows open for a week so it was not from a leak. Vacuumed it up and all was good. I think the slight dampness was just what I could not get too being sucked up by the carpet. Waited a few days after this and all is good.

Yesterday I gave the MINI a good was using a pressure washer etc. I avoided hitting the windows and the sunroof directly with it unless I was using the foam cannon. No leaks from the sunroof. My son sat in the car looking for anything while we washed it. It also sat outside in rain and nothing inside.
