Open trunk door with disconnected battery

Hi There. I disconnected my battery before leaving my mini for an extended leave of absence. Now I've realized that with the battery disconnected I can't open the trunk to reconnect it. Is there a manual release anywhere for the trunk door?

Any thoughts appreciated!

The under seat manual release cable wasn’t on the convertible. The convertible cable is on the back of the actual trunk panel. There should be a hook tool under the seat where the hardtop cable is. Use the key to unlock the seat back to fold it down then use the hook to pull on the emergency release cable on the passenger side. The handles are usually a bright color for visibility in case someone is locked inside.

The other option would be to use the jump start/charging terminal next to the air filter and a ground point in the engine compartment to provide temporary power to the car. The post has a small square cover with a + on it.

On my R52, the trunk release is on the inside of the trunk lid itself.....fold the rear seat backs down, crawl through and pull the handle off the inside of trunk lid and pull to release the lid latches

Screw that. Open the bonnet and put jumper cables on the power post next to the airbox. Power that thing up and pop the boot.
