Hello, 2008 Mini Cooper S Convertible here!

The drivers side lock/latch on my convertible top is not locking or releasing, I have to move it manually with a screwdriver. I took it apart last night following the four part top repair video expecting to find a broken latch but it is in fact not broken. When I move the latch by hand a bar inside the track seems to move back and forth so it must be broken on the other end of that bar which I can’t see.

Anyone else have this problem? It’s not broken or detached cables as otherwise the top works 100%, it is just the drivers side latch that doesn’t work.

I have the top taken apart but can’t see the aft side as it’s buried under where the top folds near the center bar and taking that apart wasn’t covered by the video.
