R56 Cooper D - Replaced CAS & DDE and now in a NCS nightmare
Long story short-ish. Used car new to my dad. Battery was **** and other day it wouldn't start. He jumped it off another car and it ran. Next day wouldn't start again and wouldn't start with jump leads. Key in slot would not get recognised so you couldn't turn ignition on. I plugged ISTA in and it couldn't find any errors. Spent 2 days trying everything i could think of, fitted a new key slot and still it wouldn't recognise the key. Doors would lock/unlock and lights would work but never able to get ignition.
Figured cheaper to buy a used CAS and DME with 2 keys than waste any more time on it. Fitted them and a new car battery. Started first time but dash like a Christmas tree. Plugged ISTA/P in and it asked what modules were replaced. This was the start of my mistakes I think. It tried to recode various modules and write VO etc. but it kept failing. Ended up with a KOMBI encoding error and DSC error. Ive used WINKPF and NCS to restore the KOMBI to the correct vin etc and that is ok. But no matter what I do I cant recode the DSC module. In NCS I get the attached error. This lead has been golden, I use it on my 335d many times and its been fine on this R56. Latency is set to 1ms. Its just this one job it wont execute. I'm on 67.1 daten files. Is there anything else I can try to get this DSC happy. We have the ABS/DSC lights on the dashboard and calibrating the steering sensor in ISTA/D hasn't helped it any.
If we can sort that I'd be happy.
The next issue is the mileage and the tamper dot. Am I right in thinking if I code the rest of the car to the donor VIN, although not ideal, it should remove the dot but give us the donor car mileage (10k extra)? Or is there any way at all to get the CAS3 and DDE to accept the cars original VIN? I've changed it in NCS but i understand that's not the full vin that's in the module and only the user information VIN
Any help appreciated

Try to look with NCS Expert in Instrument KOMB56-C05 module if DSC is right coded. There are 5 lines must check for right coding of DSC.
As in 5 entries in NCS that are editable and should be car specific? Cars at my dad's so I'll take another look tomorrow. I'm sure when I used NCS dummy it couldn't find a suitable module form the trace file that had come out of the DSC module.
