Transmission fried?????

Hello everyone,
Because of a oil leak I pulled my automatic transmission in my 2011 Clubman S and changed the main seal.
I put the trans back in without to much of a problem. I mean the trans gave a bit of a fight but
nothing to make me throw a wrench or anything. I filled her back up with fluid (about 3 1/2 Q).
I didn't drain the transfer case and figured there was still fluid in the lines. So I basically filled
it until it started coming out the fill hole(really hard to tell how much fluid is in the damn thing).
Anyways, I put everything back together and drove it and it was fine the first day (7 miles).
2nd day about 15 miles if feel the trans slipping. Get home and then try to take my son to a friends
house and car goes into reverse and then nothing......no more gears. I thought maybe after It cooled down
I would at least go into gear so I could get it into the garage but no....
Anyone have thoughts before I hit the yard? Maybe I missed something? I'm sure I did something wrong in my process and I'll
need to get it right if I get a different trans.
2013 with 123,000 i'm not buying a $5000 rebuilt

On these models there is a pretty specific way to ensure you have the right amount of fluid in the trans. This article from Pelican Parts explains it pretty well. https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...uid_change.htm

It might be a good idea to put the car on jack stands (it needs to be level), then check the fluid level according to the process. If the level is ok - then you could rule that out. If not, get the fluid level correct and then see how it works.

Will do thanks! I changed the trans fluid and stand pipe on this a few a few years back
and recall going thru all the steps and still having a problem getting a proper level check.
I'll give it another go. I'm hoping it went into some thermal shut down sensing danger or damage coming.
no codes tho.

What do you mean by "transfer case"? Is it AWD?
By fill hole you do mean the standpipe in the pan drain?
Did you pull the torque converter from the trans case?

Sorry I meant Torque Converter and yes I had to pull that to get to the main seal.
I used the fill hole just below the trans cooler which is what I used last time I changed
the fluid. .

You over filled it big time. No idea if draining it will fix the no go problem.
Place on level ground and remove the drain plug but not the standpipe. Replace drain plug when fluid drips really slow. Make sure there is a standpipe in the pan!
Hope that fixes it. You should still check the fluid level as per the Pelican "how to" above.

I will get it up to temp and drain the whole thing and re-fill. I went through this process with this car back in 18 where I drained it after warming it up and also heating up the new fluid like the Pelican directions say
But as soon as I put in 3 quarts it started leaking out and yes the stand pipe was in....totally weird. This is why I improvised.
