Ok, i am trying to puzzle this one out.
I have a F56 Cooper S 2 door. Almost 160k miles.
Recently, I have noticed, when I fill the tank, and get back in it takes 20 seconds or more to start.
Any other time Day or night after long or short drives it always starts right up.
I have tried not filling it up and it seems to do it 95% of the time.
I have always used 93 octane.
Just this past year switched from Shell to Mobil. as the primary fuel.
Today, i drove it about 40 miles and stopped the car and opened the gas cap for 30 sec, and put it back on. and the car started right up.
so far the only issue happens after putting gas in the tank.
I've had the same issue—fill up with gas, and then there's difficulty starting the car. About 5-10 seconds for me right now. I now have a check engine light with a P0456 code (Evaporative emission (EVAP) system - very small leak detected).
How do you replace that evap control valve? Do you just remove the old one and put in the new one or do I have to depressurize the system or something like that?
