To bore or not to bore....

So - after making several measurements and double/triple checking I've found that my cylinder-bore sizes show .002", .002", .002", and .003" over on cylinders 1 though 4 respectively and taper is within spec. I'm not planning on upgrading the turbo, I'm just going relatively stock but with a set of new pistons, rings and bearings. (As well as some other stuff while I'm here. The engine has 105k on it and the cylinder bores are clean wit no scratches and there are still crosshatching marks in each cylinder from the original honing. (They're faint but visible!) I'd LIKE to be able to hone/de-glaze and call it good but I don't wanna go full jack-leg rebuild..... Any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated! (You all have been a huge help so far!)

I think the biggest risk you face is rolling the dice on main bearing clearances. If I recall, your engine was non-running when you bought it. Taking the previous owner's word on how far the car was driven after the engine "blew" can be risky. The following link is from a NAM member who (I believe) did what you are contemplating. His engine didn't build enough oil pressure. Hence, the part-out. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co.../market/353781 . You may be able to score his CP pistons for a great deal, however.

To those keeping score...

I'm having the block bored! Starting with a clean slate. I'm going with the Sneed4Speed kit w/CP Pistons (20 overbore), ARP fasteners, and cometic gasket. Staying with stock compression. I'm not trying to build crazy power, just reliable power. Staying with the stock turbo. (The car came with a bigger FMIC). Wondering if a BOV "enhancement" is worth it... It's got a catless downpipe.

This will be my first MINI engine - build so any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
