FS: 2004 Mini Cooper S w/lots of extras

Well, I hate to part with my Little Stealth Rocket,
but I need to go big for work reasons...

2004 Mini Cooper S - Nov '03 Build, delivered in December '03.
Dark Silver/Dark Silver/Panther Black Leather
8800 miles (relatively gentle - I'm 41)
Premium and Sport Packages
DVD Navigation System (with British voice hack)
Whalen Polished Shift ****
17" R90 Wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 - 215/45ZR17 tires
(roughly 6000 miles, been rotated once)
Original Dunlop all-season runflat tires

Over $7000 in performance and audio upgrades!

Alta 15% reduction pulley, K&N Typhoon cold air intake,
UUC Polished Stainless Steel Cat-Back exhaust (all expertly
installed at Steve's Auto Clinic in Northridge)

Alpine CDA7998 CD/MP3 player with built-in XM Satellite tuner
JL Audio 4x75W Amp
MB Quart 5 1/4" speakers up front
MB Quart 6x9 speaker in the rear
iPod Input

The car is in excellent condition, with the exception of 2 small door dings.

Located in Hollywood, CA - would prefer to deal with someone locally if possible.

Asking $25,900 Firm... which is the Kelly Blue Book private party value,
excluding the performance and audio upgrades.

I personally love that color combo (DS/DS) as it was a VERY close second to my IB/IB.

I also think that dropping it under $24K would help, but then again I'm on the East coast and I don't really have a feel for the market out your way.

Best of luck, consider keeping it as it seems like you've been good to her so far!!!

Go to www.cars.com or www.autotrader.com and it will sell a lot quicker there. Of course, you will have to pay a fee to place your add plus photos. I recommend the $50 cars.com "deal" where they let you advertaise your car and upload up to 12 photos. The ad runs until it sells

I think the price is right for your market. many people in California looking for a MINI either have long waiting lists to contend with or price gouging by local dealers, so you are in a favorable position to sell it.

Also, www.minimania.com have absolutely free ads + 1 photo upload. Try it.

It is hard to sell MINIs in NAM marketplace. This site is not really a "dedicated used car" website and hence not many people come here looking for used MINIs. I am selling my '04 MCS for $20,300 (A total give away) and have received ZERO responses so far.

So don't worry, its nothing wrong with your car, just you need to bite the bullet and advertaise on the high traffic used car paysites.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I'd love to keep it, but I need to get something bigger and a bit more... practical. Like a Hummer.

I've had the $50 ad on autotrader.com for about a week, and have gotten 2 calls. I'll give minimania a shot.

Mods usually decrease the value, especially on sites like autotrader. Either stick with enthusiast sites or part it out and sell it as close to stock as possible. Or better yet, keep it!

Used car buyers are always wary of mods, especially perfomance mods. People just assume the car has been thrashed...

So if you can restore it to stock, that would help.

As far as price, don't assume that just because you haven't sold it in two weeks that the price is too high! It takes time to sell a used car (or new car, for that matter), even if the price is right.

Good luck!

btw, I hope you're joking about a Hummer being practical!

I totally agree about the mods hurting resale... but that's why I reduced the price. Don't really have the time or want to spend the money to get the car back to stock. Not sure I can go back to the stock exhaust anyway, the way Steve installed the UUC.

If any locals want to pay for the labor to get the car back to stock, in exchange for those parts...

I'll pay for the reinstalled labor of the exhaust and pulley :-)
