Suspension Question to all coilover owners
Question to all coilover owners
As i finalize the plans for a set of tein type ss with edfc.... i want to ask one quick question to you guys who did the install of any coilover kit
does the mini's rear suspension (i mean the entire unit that is changed out) touch any part of the trailing arm? the trailing arm is a large black metal piece that sticks out from the front end of the wheel well.. what i mean is there any nuts, bolts, the question is there ANY attachment points from the coilover to the trailing arm...
i bent my trailing arm about a couple of months ago in a very stupid accident (let's just say tiredness and driving in a cramped garage does not mix) and i want to know before i get the kit and install it that do i need to get that piece replaced... my dealer fixed it up right now even with the defective part, it is bent to the back about 2 degrees...
i really appreciate any response anyone can give me!

Yikes! If you have bent your trailing arm, you have major problems and shouldn't be thinking about coilovers at this point. You need to get this trailing arm replaced !
And yes, the rear shock is bolted directly to the trailing arm.
Not to mention, have you checked the control arms? If your trailing arm was worked on and is now better at 2 degrees off, then I have to imagin that there was also control arm damage. If you don't get this fixed 100%, then you might as well be driving a Geo.
