Angry Custom Dyno Tune

Hi Everyone,
Is there anyone running a custom Dyno tune on their Gen3 F56? If so, let's talk! Did you run into any problems? I'm stuck at 300hp. Do you have any advice? I don't want to move certain levels, so I avoid any "knocks".

What are your other mods classed to this tune? My feeling is 300HP is pretty much where you can be with a stock turbo and stock internals. Beyond 250whp you should already have gone through considering the turbo upgrade and getting those pistons replaced with forged ones.

I think you may be right.
I have a few mods:
  • Hard boost pipes
  • Forge IC
  • Eventuri CAI
  • Custom Tune
  • Spark plugs colder
  • No Forge engine yet
  • Custom suspension
  • Upgraded turbo

Didn't realize you've gone that far. And I'm sure you know what you're doing. It just shudders me to see quite many folks go into modding and tuning blind. But yea, with what ya got, I'd definitely advise you to look into upgrading some forged pistons before you go with that custom tune and get beyond 300hp. I've looked at quite a handful of cases of B48 pistons failing. I wouldn't say a tune is the problem, but there are evaluations done on those piston designs and the space between the rings is too thin, this is cast-iron piston, no matter how much ductility and strength you get out of this choice of material, the design flaw is there. Even if you go with a piston of the exact same design and have it forged, I'd still cringe beyond 350whp, It really needs slight more spacing between the rings. On stock form, a safety threshold that I imagined is 250whp, probably even less. Mine's at 245whp and I think I'm walking on thin ice with it all day. (Granted I've got a fresh spare motor standing by, and I've got Mahle's Superpak pistons which are made for the B58's.) Even if the current motor doesn't break, one of those days I'd be swapping the motor out with the upgraded pistons and call it a day for a peace of mind. I am looking to get slightly beyond 300whp, though, that's the ultimate goal.

Hi there Blackmarket, are you running a S or a JCW, iwas running a JCW with 310 bhp and 425 nm.torque.I blew no. 1 piston and have now gone forged. As other people have pointed out there does seem to be a weakness in the pistons. Go forged, better safe than sorry.
