A family member wants to replace a current car with a MINI and really likes the Ice Blue & Orange combo. What years was that available for the 2 door hatch MCS? And did they offer that package with a manual tranny?

 

I've been building a registry of these cars to learn more about them and connect the owners, so this question is right up my alley! [Ice Blue Edition Registry]

The 2-door Ice Blue Edition was for 2018. The 4-door was 2019.

Per a friend at MINI corporate recently, MINI made 500 total Ice Blue Edition 2-door Hardtops (there was previously just a "500 or less" estimate via MotoringFile).

They made an even split of 250 Coopers and 250 Cooper S.

The Cooper was automatic only and Ice Blue / White.

The Cooper S was available with either an automatic or manual, and came with the orange accents (although some either asked for the orange to be removed before delivery or have since removed it).

Based on the cars I've added to the registry so far, approximately 20% of Cooper S had a manual transmission, so that puts the total Ice Blue / Orange manuals at about 50 cars.

NOW is the time to find one because they were all built around the same few weeks in late 2017 and, therefore, many are coming back from 3-year leases right now.

Blainestain and OP - sorry to hijack. Blaine - do you also track the MINI 60 years edition stats? I too enjoy the Ice Blue edition, but I think my all times faves were the MINI 7 edition and the 60 Years edition. If there is a link to those that would be awesome. Thanks!

I hope the OP finds the perfect Ice Blue. I personally would require the Orange Trim - looks great.

Nice, its kind of a Gulf racing color set up. Colors are not exact to the Gulf colors but its in that style.

 

I've just been trying to track the Ice Blue Edition because I have one. Haven't tracked the other ones, unfortunately.
