Theoretical DS build for a 2020 Mini
Hello cone dodgers. What does a full street class build look like for a 2020 JCW Clubman? I have never setup an AWD car for performance driving before and I am unsure what to do about camber.
Wheels: 18x8 ET57 is the goal. There are some obvious answers on tire rack. Is there anything else out there? Somehow the lug pattern, size, and offset is hard to find.
Tires: 255 or 265 section? Probably going with RE-71s or Rivals for the first set.
Camber: can anything be done here? Crash bolts or alignment pin removal?
Sway bar: Front or rear? I found a couple of rear bars but no front bars yet. Is there a good argument for a stiff front bar to keep the front suspension from moving as a bandaid for the lack of camber?
Exhaust: The only one I have found so far is the Remus kit. Does it save much weight?
Tow hitch: Curt makes a hitch. What do you do about the "kick to open" boxes for the rear doors?
Anything I missed?

My 2018 JCW Hardtop started out in DS, and because I am bull-goose looney I replaced both hubs before I accepted delivery.
The alternate hubs permitted -.9 degrees of camber on the front end, which otherwise cannot be adjusted.
$400 a side, plus labor - so camber is not cheap in DS. I've subsequently gone to STU to get a proper setup (LSD, wide rims, coil-overs, camber plates).
If you're headed for Nationals, I'm afraid you've the wrong car. If you're seeking a regional title, just put a rear bar and some 225s (RE71, or A052) on it and have fun.
Ii reckon that car should be a hoot in DS, but I sure wish Mini would do a mechanical LSD - the electronic alternative is better than nothing, but...
Cheers,
Charlie

The 2020 Clubman JCW has a mechanical front diff and comes with 18x8 wheels. 225s make sense on the street but seem a little narrow for autocross. Is there a tire clearance reason to go so narrow?
How do you source alternate hubs?
How do you source alternate hubs?
Seems my experience might be irrelevant as the two cars are pretty different.
RealOEM has this interesting collection of parts - apparently NOT requiring the hub casting to change.
Perhaps you've more tire room also? 225s are tight on the Hardtop but I agree the car could probably run a 245 given it's 830 pounds heavier than mine..
Cheers,
Charie

Thanks for the realoem link. I use them for BMW parts but I totally forgot that they had Mini parts.
I am coming from a ~2600lb R53 with more tire than the new car so I am expecting there to be a learning curve.
There are a couple quick Type Rs and Focus RS's in my region. I think there were two national trophies in 2019. I am curious how close I can get. The Type R is significantly lighter but the Focus RS's weight is pretty close.
I am primarily picking up this car to be a daily driver. On days when I don't want to tow, I am hoping this can be a car that can drop the kid off at grandma's, run an autocross with a reasonable pax time, pick up the kid, and do 80 down the interstate on the way home.
