R56 Neo Brothers HPFP Fuel Pump - Broken, no replacement
Neo Brothers HPFP Fuel Pump - Broken, no replacement
Hi,
I just wanted to share my experience with a 'Genuine' high pressure fuel pump for the Mini R56 I bought from Neo Bros.
Purchased the pump in March last year for ~£350. Broke and stopped working this year August.
Unfortunately it only comes with a 1 year warranty, so it's a few months outside of cover. Neo Brothers will not replace nor give a discount on replacement.
They are entirely within their rights of course, it is outside warranty.
I just wanted to share this because if I were to go back in time I would have made sure I bought one with a 3 year warranty, like the £250 'Osias' brand one. Alternatively I'd have just bought two used ones, had one spare and still had more cash in my pocket!
Bummer :(

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. The Oasis brand has had some poor reliability also. For me, a warranty doesn't mean anything if I have to perform the work over and over again. I would rather buy a quality part the first time, than have to deal with warranty (or out of warranty) repairs.
The HPFP market is rife with fraud.
I bought one that was "refurbished". In this case it turned out the vendors concept of refurbishment was sandblasting the pump while leaving the inlet and outlet ports uncovered. The internals were loaded with sandblasting grit. I know this because I dis-assembled it as far as I could to see what had been done to it. Nothing, other than adding lots of grit...
If you must buy used, do so from a reputable salvage yard.
