Way cheaper to go with just springs, and they are easy enough to resell if you decide to go with coil overs, I have one car on H&R street springs another car with H&R coil overs, once you figure out the height you want to be at you basically never touch them again. The H&R street springs will drop it about 1.25 inches, no rubbing issues even with 215/45/17's

Are springs bad for the stock suspension? I don't want to cause unnecessary wear and tear on my car at the expense of it.
Which do you prefer? Coils or springs? Dumb question? Haha
the coil overs are set way lower than the H&R street springs and to my surprise the ride is not that much different, same tires conti extreme contact uhp 215/45/17's, no rubbing issues on either car, the car looks great lower on the coil overs, but $200.00 for springs, &1500.00 for coil overs take your pick. factory struts seemed to hold up ok, have a new set of bilstein b8 specifically for lowered cars but havent installed them yet because i am probably going to sell it. coil over car pictured
What would the best option for lowering my mini be? I have a 2009 cooper s.
Coils or springs? I really have no idea...
I don't want to lower it that much. maybe .5 - 1 inch.
hopefully not crazy expensive, any help is appreciated! thank you
I beg of you NOT to waste your money on springs! You may like it in the beginning but you will soon regret the purchase.
save your money for a good set of coil overs although, more expensive, in the long run a much more stable option. Not to mention. The various levels of adjustment.
Personally, I’m saving my pennies for an air bag kit. Smooth ride with complete adjustability.
DONT waste time or money on springs..... buuuut, it’s your choice.

Do you have any coilovers you would recommend? Preferably under $750? Is that possible?

for most of us, our cars are our pride and joy. Keep saving a few more months and purchase a quality product that will last. I’ve seen so many people not want to spend money For quality ans end up paying more in the long run. Cars aren’t cheap, repairs aren’t cheap and good parts aren’t cheap. I’m sure you will survive a few more months dude and be much more satisfied in the end.
as for brands, I only have experience with two. Both were excellent as well.
