E-Mini Delivery Spreadsheet - Let's Track These Inbound SEs
Delivery Spreadsheet - Let's Track These Inbound SEs

I've begun a spreadsheet so we can compare notes on our ordered SEs. The link is live, and anyone with the link should be able to edit it. Of course, this also means some bonehead could also falsify/ruin/delete data. I guess, if some malicious person does that, I'll lose the five minutes I have invested...
Feel free to play with it as you see fit; there are far better Excel gurus than me.
Enjoy!

Moonwalk Grey paint, Satellite Grey upholstery, Vigorous Grey grille and hatch handle--all complement the Energetic Yellow grille blade and mirror caps well IMO.
By coincidence, I'm currently reading a 1951 science-fiction space-opera, Gray Lensman.

Great question! I was curious about that myself, and thought maybe you cancelled your order.
If you didn't cross it out, I say un-cross it and see if it sticks.

To unclog the list, I've now moved all the "at dealer" rows to the bottom of the sheet. That was my intent with the strikethrough.

Ah, that makes sense. I like the new formatting--that really clears it up!
This is great. I would like to add my details but when I follow the instructions to track my shipment as noted below
WW provides a great website for you to check to see whether your MINI is booked aboard WW (or ARC) ships. You will need to start at the WW Cargo Tracking website: https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/. The page will allow you to enter your VIN (which you can obtain from the OL) in the Cargo ID field.
there is no Cargo ID field to input my VIN. What am I missing? Thanks

WW removed that functionality a couple years ago for security purposes (as I eventually learned by going through the very same frustration you are now). You will have to do a little detective work when your MINI's status changes from "At The Port" to "In Transit".
I have done some poking around and developed a method to reasonably guess which carrier your MINI is on when that status changes.I'll try to add a post to the How to Track your MINI thread tonight with those steps, and hopefully that will help drive updates to the first post.
EDIT: Here is my post.

I am happy to report that 11 months and 4 days after placing my order, I took delivery of my Moonwalk Grey Iconic MINI Cooper SE with Power Spoke wheels yesterday. Sadly, it was also the day my MINI dealer went out of business. However, it turns out that after my SE sat at the port in Southampton, UK, for 6 weeks, MINI expedited the process to beat the August 24th expiration date of MINI of Ann Arbor. That worked out in the (sort of) short term for me, but I would have gladly waited a few more weeks if they were not closing up shop.
I drove about 40 spirited miles on my favorite twisty roads and then started visiting all my friends who have put up with my "when I get my MINI" talk for so long. None of them told me it was an ugly car or that I made a mistake buying an electric car that can go only 110 EPA miles on a charge. True friends are like that.
More important than my friends is my wife. I was so relieved that she, too, liked the SE. I was worried she would think the suspension is too stiff, but it turns out to be softer than my 2000 and 2006 gen-1 Honda Insights. Then I saw the headlights last night. Wow! They seem too bright to be legal when compared with the candles illuminating the way on our Clarity Plug-In Hybrid..
I wanted a compact, sporty BEV and IMHO, there is no other car available in the US that matches this spec. This car was well worth the wait.

I'm beginning my 3rd week of waiting for mine to leave Southampton. The next possible carrier that could transport my SE leaves next Monday. <sigh>
I'm surprised at how fast this is going since the dealer told me that SEs were not being build at the same rate as regular MINIs and that I could expect 4-6 months for delivery. Based on that information I ordered the car in Sep and, needless to say, the process is moving along much faster than anticipated. I'm posting data in the spreadsheet, but also here for quick reference.
9 Sep - Deposit
12 Sep - Placed Order at Dealer
29 Sep - Received Build Number (17 days since order placed)
6 Oct - Exterior Body Assembly began today. At this rate the car should be her in early Dec, which is earlier than expected/desired. I had hoped to take delivery after the first of the year. (23 Days)
7 Oct - Now in Quality Check. Since yesterday the following steps were completed: In the Paint Booth; Entering Assembly Line; and Assembly in Process. (25 Days)
7 Oct - Awaiting Carrier Assignment ... guess build is done. (25 Days)
8 Oct - Dispatched from Factory (26 Days)
9 Oct - At UK Port (27 Days)
1 Nov - In Transit aboard Orion Highway (50 Days)
18 Nov - At destination port (Brunswick, GA) (67 Days)
30 Nov - In transit to dealer (79 days)
1 Dec - At the dealer (80 days)
9 Sep - Deposit

Our MA said on Friday we still didn't have a build number, and he's been checking every day, but today it went straight from being in the order bank to being dispatched from the factory, so now we're in business!
Now we just need to get things set up for charging.

It finally arrived at the dealer today (actually late yesterday). The entire process took 80 days from finalizing the order to arriving at the dealer. Below is the timeline:

It is interesting to note that the build process happened fairly quickly once the order was placed. What was surprising was the amount of time the car sat at the UK port prior to shipping - 23 days. Also, it sat at the port in GA for 12 days, although the Thanksgiving holiday and installation of options were probably factors. All-in-all, not too bad considering the dealer told us to expect a six month wait when we ordered it.

Can you (someone?) please help explain this to me? I would have thought that since this was a custom order, that all the options you choose, would be installed at the factory. Seems odd to me that they delayed any, to instead be installed at the US port of arrival. I mean, did you pick an option that would have been illegal in the UK?

I wrote to the head of BMW, the head of MINI, the head of the MINI factory, and the head of MINI USA, offering $1,500 to have the factory install the less-expensive scoopless base MINI hood, but they all ignored me so I had to get the hood replaced immediately after taking delivery, which cost more than $1,500. I'm very happy with my scoopless SE, but I still have to sell the OEM hood to recover a few bucks.
Electric cars don't need fake hood scoops.
