Sunroof fuse

Hi. I have a 2004 mini cabriolet. The roof has been fine for ages . I’d had the roof down and raised it again ( looked like rain). Couple of hours later the sun was out and I attempted to lower the roof. Nothing. The sunroof didn’t move, windows didn’t even drop. After some investigation later I found the 20A fuse in the interior fuse box had blown. Replacing the fuse unfortunately didn’t cure things. The fuse is blowing instantly implying a dead short? Having looked at the YouTube vids and the bit of knowledge gained from installing a DAB antenna, I took apart the panelling where the switches are housed over the windscreen, removed the drive motor, adjusted the hydraulics and manually retracted the roof. The 3 switches in the back all checked. All wiring looks good. Still blowing. Any help would be gratefully received, thanks.
