Has anyone purchased the $200 massautowerks380cc Injectors (cheaper replacement for the JCW Stock 380cc Injectors)??
I'm interested if these are worth it, if you have had them flow tested to make sure it is truly 380cc with clean spray patterns as $200 for these injectors NEW seems too good to be true.
Check out the Bosch Volvo 380cc injectors at FCP Euro. They're plug & play on a MINI with wiring adapters (cheap on eBay), and around $100. I run them on my R53 and they perform perfectly. They are also 4-port rather than 2-port (MINI design) which creates better fuel atomization. Check my injector thread on this forum for details.

What are benefits of those vs the exact jcw copies? I'd figure not touching the wireharness would be a big plus..
those EV1 to EV14 adapters won't fit under the intercooler AFAIK, even the wire extension types are difficult to fit without pulling the harness out of the sheathing.
Price for one. I don't have any issues with the EV adapters fitting or working. Been running these for months with no problems. Check out Adrian's post and I also have a thread explaining everything.
Anyone seen this kind of failure with the Bosch 62431 injectors ??

I had the Bosch 62431 injectors on my ride for quite some time, no issues whatsover for at least 10k miles. Then the below happened while WOT on a cold night ... only piston #1 experienced the issue, all the other pistons looked fantastic (and compression is 100%).
Theory is that somehow mixture ran too lean, caused extra hot explosion in the chamber and made that hole on the piston.
Has anyone seen this kind of failure before?
Worth noting, I'm running 17% SC and 2% ATI crankshaft pulley, getting 17.5+ psi on WOT (occasionally getting the "MAP high input engine code").
I'm going to take the injectors to a cleaner to see if they can diagnose whether the fuel injector was/is indeed faulty. If so, I may be motivated to just pay the $$$ and stick to the Siemens 380cc injectors.
Also worth noting, car has 151k miles, so i'm also wondering if the fuel starvation on that injector may have happened due to dirt making it past the fuel pump filter ...?
Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated. I'm about to do an engine swap, and sure as hell don't want this to happen again!! (and no, I will not stop driving it hard )

It is cylinder #1. Can you elaborate more on the intake manifold? Is it a known issue?
Read a previous reply to your thread and thoughts from someone else regarding the design of the intake manifold. Very interesting! However it seems the designer confirmed that this situation would cause more a rich mixture than a lean mixture, with less air getting into cyl #1. In my case with the burnt piston, would seem I either had a pre-ignition or detonation, again possibly due to a too lean mixture. So I think i could possibly rule out the manifold as a culprit?
