New Clutch, lost power to wheels

Hi guys - So I just got my 05 R53 back from my mechanic on Tuesday after a new Valeo clutch install, as well as two new axles (DTA as recommended by ModMINI) and a few other things.

The car drove great for 4 days, but yesterday as I shifted from 2nd to 3rd, gas pedal went back down and the engine revved... that was it. I coasted into a parking lot and tried to eyeball the axles, all looked ok from what I could tell.

I'm able to press the clutch pedal in and it feels fairly similar to normal operation. I can shift into and out of all gears without the clutch pressed in (although a bit harder for some gears). My initial thought was clutch fork or pressure plate (uggh) but when the car was getting loaded onto the flatbed there was a trail of clear (hydraulic?) fluid and a subsequent pool was left after the mile long trip to the shop.

My mechanic is out of town until after the 4th so I thought I'd hop on here and have my hopes crushed - Does this sound like a stuck or busted slave cylinder to anyone? If not why the leaking fluid?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated and wish me luck!

D

Could be brake fluid (from the slave cylinder). Also could be transmission fluid if the DTA axle popped out. This happened after I put DTA axles in my car, the driver side came loose after about 100 miles and leaked a bit of fluid until we took it out and put the OE circlip back in to keep it held in tightly. I check it whenever I'm under the car but 5k miles later and all is tight.

I'm hoping this is the case. I'll have to wait for my guy to get back from vaca (unless I end up towing it home).. but if that does the trick I hope he's still got the original parts!

GL with the clutch slave replacement! Be sure to fully compress the slave with an appropriate tool while bleeding and have plenty of brake fluid on hand.

Issue was the drive axle popping out. The splines were shot but a quick replacement and I have not had issues since.

I have the same issue

Hi, you mentioned that the car went into gear without pressing the clutch, did the car die after putting it in gear?
