Looking for working ISTA-P

Hey guys.

Been scratching my head trying to figure out an error on my R60. I've tried installing all manner of software found in all different forums: INPA, ISTA-D, and ISTA-P. None of them fully work. I was able to do some basic coding with NCSExpert, but none of it is tech level, just convenience.

I'm looking for a working version of ISTA-P for an R60 if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

R56 is the base folder for ALL 2nd gen minis.

ISTAP is for programming and is not for the novice

ISTAD is the one you need to read codes and diagnose the car.

Usually ISTAD has built in SPDatens and doesn't need further updates.

What is the specific issue you're encountering?

This is scanned with Deep OBD and a BT OBD2 device so it could be giving me a generic code but my Google searches have turned up nothing and I couldn't get ISTA D to work so I'm stuck with what I have..

DSC (Stability system EBC_450):
Error code: D377
DSC message: (PT_CAN_STAT_DS_VRFD, Identification characteristic:0x1E1) missing, receiver DSC, transmitter CAS, Fault currently present
Environmental conditions:
- Frequency: 5
- Logistics counter: 40
- Mileage/km reading: 126736 km
- Vehicle speed: 0 km/h

this error could be related to a speed sensor.

How ISTAD is not working? does it load up but wont connect to the car? you click on the icon and nothing happens? did you do through the installation steps?

Speed sensors are all reading fine in Deep OBD (fine being that they register 0 when stopped and a speed in km/h when moving).

Last time I tried ISTA D (been a few months since I switched to working on my Audi), it was just not communicating with the SZL when I was trying to recalibrate it. It grabbed the error code from the car fine and gave me troubleshooting steps (however basic and convoluted they were "check communication with module") but then errored out when trying to recalibrate the SZL.

I did notice in Deep OBD that the SZL module is reading the angle about 2 degrees out from the DSC and the FRM(? I don't recall the other module I was looking at steering angle with). I just paid for a download of ISTA from bimmer diagnostic, so hopefully that one will work. I know that my cable is definitely a cheap one and that has shown problems with things in the past, but most problems were also evident in NCSExpert which they aren't for me.

most issues I had were related to COM assignment and sometimes the latency resets to 16 when it should be 1. I know mini cooper calibration of the SZL isn't similar to audi/vw where it would tell you turn all the way left or right and wait for beeps.

the cable i have is probably similar to yours and it worked fine for the past 7 years lol. clear cover with a switch on one face.

Apparently every other time I have tried searching has been a bad google-fu day for me. Found this obscure thread about E-series DSC codes which points me to the Yaw Sensor under the passenger seat. New these are ~$700, but there are some used ones in good nick for under $100. The journey continues.

I think in INPA, you could get to the lateral and longitudinal values through the ABS module.

In ISTAD, once the modules tree comes up, select the ABS module then go down-left to "call up functions" and check these values if they make sense.
