R60 Air conditioning only works on Max setting
Air conditioning only works on Max setting
Hello!
its been awhile since i posted, The mini unfortunately hasn't been used in awhile due to some mechanical problems. But i figured that with being at home recently i could see if i can attempt to fix the air conditioning myself as a side project, i will admit ahead of time i dont have too much experience in working on the car myself.
So i have an issue where the air conditioning only works at full speed. From my research this could be caused by the Blower Motor Resistor, Does this seem like a possibility for the issue? The part i believe i would need is this (Link).
I couldn't find to much information on how to replace this resistor, is there any guides on how to replace this part? From what i can tell its behind the panel on the drivers side foot well. But couldnt get much more then that.
Thank you for any assistance!

The AC will only work when the fan is on. If your resistor is toast, the fan will only work on High (the resistor reduces the current to produce lower speeds). If your fan works on other speeds with no AC, then it's not the resistor.
The resistor is right beside the blower, which is behind the centre console. If you're pulling it all apart to replace the resistor, you might want to do the blower while you're at it.
Check out www.realoem.com for excellent diagrams showing what part goes where and which one you need for your machine.
