Does anyone know how much space is under the front seats of these cars? I'm trying to build a custom sub enclosure to fit under there, what's the max size it can be? I'm most interested in how much depth there is so I can decide which subwoofer to use. What's the tallest I can have it?

Didnt you say you had an R52? Cant you just measure it for yourself?
Enclosure size will depend how far back into the rear passenger space you want to encroach, and height of course will depend where you set your seat. Worst case you have 3"
The under seat air vent is 20" from the back of the rear footwell. With my 7x10x3" box in place there is about 12" of space for the passengers feet.
There is next to no room under the passengers seat as there is indeed a module already under there taking up most of the space. (HK amp maybe?)
Remember, if you take the seats out to make installing easier, unplug the battery first so you dont trip the airbag light. Some pictures attached for you.
View from front of 7x10x3" high box under front driver seat. Very little clearance above the box. View from back showing under seat vent at front of space,. and seat wiring harness. Note the intrusion of seat mechanisms into side to side space that limits available width. Seat has to be raised to provide enough height clearance to slide box in or out. 12" of space until making contact with box, thats the space for any rear passengers feet.

Really appreciate the pictures, noticed you replied to my other thread as well, thank you. I was actually about to go measure for myself, I had attempted to previously but it's pretty dark under there and my phone flashlight doesn't seem to do much so I wasn't sure my measurements were accurate, this gives me reassurance though.
There may be some room under the carpet depending on your car options. Mine had some foam spacers under there that get removed (I believe) to place the navigation module if equipped. I also think the HK amp may be placed under there in the R52. I have an R53 and just removed the spacers in mine to install an amp an processor. My guess is that there is only 2-3 inches of total clearance if you remove the foam spacer, and cutout the carpet. In other words, not enough room for a sub.
