Here is the car in preparation:

That's looking pretty good. How do the electronics & wiring match up with the engine change? Does the car need to be told it's now running an N18? In addition to the dual vanos, what else has been redesigned/improved from the N14?

The engine harness and ECU are N18 specific. the only change will be in the body side of the ECU plug; last time I did it, it was 2 or 3 wires. I am still going to use the CAS and keyfob matched to the ECU until I figure a way to marry the donor ECU to the original CAS.

The PCV design is also improved. because of the dual vanos, the pistons and the head have a different design than the N14. it also has slightly more power and it is more quite than the N14.

I really wish I could do this to my 07. The N14 is a pain in the ***.

What's the issue with your N14?

I'm putting an N14 engine for my friend over the weekend. Never a dull moment lol
