Should I buy this R60?
So, I have a friend who owns a Mini repair facility. He is selling his 2013 all4 S Countryman. It has 98,xxx miles on it. He has serviced it in his shop, since the warranty expired and it’s been detailed by the best in the business. It’s in absolutely perfect condition. It looks like it just came off the showroom floor. It’s a bark metallic blue, with a white top. He wants $8,900 for it. I think I could get it for $8,000. And, he just text me and told me I could buy it for a lot less than that $8,900 price tag. I’ll pin him down on the exact price. The only reservation I have is the turbo or tranny going out, with that many miles. What do you guys think? I don’t know much about these R60s. Thanks for any opinions you have.
He just text me back and said he’d let me buy it for $7,500.

My co-pilot has a '15 R60 and just loves it. I mainly drive it to top off the tank or take it in for regular service and it does nicely. I'd not trade my R52 for one though. I wouldn't worry about either of those issues if they've been regularly and carefully serviced along with all the other normal wear items. Sounds like your friend will be a good resource for maintenance.
Mine has 87xxx miles on it with no issues. If you buddy changed the oil at 6k mile intervals i would not worry about the turbo. If you buy it change out the tranny fluid and filter if its not already done and all the plastic cooling system bits and enjoy.
Bought mine with 123,000 miles on it for $8k. I've has some issues like the normal oil leaks and recently replaced the water pump and timing chain. But other than that it runs like a top. If it's been maintained like you said I'd buy it for sure.
Bought a well maintained 2012 a few years ago with 85K on it. It had already had the HPFP and Turbo replaced. I am now at 130K and loving every minute of the experience. Especially after replacing the run flats!
If he hasnt touched the cooling system, thats $1200-ish bucks just waiting to be spent. Thermostat, WP, crossover, all that fun stuff. Struts, wheel bearings, CVs to name some more common items. Those latter stuff are simple though. Check around the PVC and other tubes for oil vapor...bad valve covers are common and can lead to a slew of other issues.
Other than that it sounds like close to top dollar...our '13 has about 80K miles and probably is not worth that much.

Personally, I love the R60, especially the S All4. We bought our 2015 CMS All4 coming off lease in 2018. It's one of the best cars we've ever owned. What's not to love about a Countryman S All4? As long as the car's been checked out and maintained properly you should get many trouble free years from it. Our Countryman still only has 21,000 miles on it and it drive like new! One thing we love about it is the color "Light Coffee"....you don't see that color much at all and we get compliments on it all the time. I like the simplicity of the R60 Countryman. We had a F60 loaner and it was very nice but much bigger and more electronics....I like "simple"! Oh yes, as mentioned above, having non-run flats on the Countryman will absolutely transform the ride "for the better"!
