Hi Guys, I was cleaning out my car the other day and had the doors open foe about 5 to 7 minutes and got a battery discharge warning upon start. Their was nothing else on in the car besides the interior lights. Is it normal to get a warning so quickly?

 

how old is the battery???? and where are you?

if I was gonna give a 'covers all' recommendation: battery 3 years old? replace it

 

Sure it wasn't just the key fob discharge warning? I just bought my mini recently and thought I'd have to replace the battery, until I read the info center message correctly.

 

I am not really sure if is the fob or not. I swapped out the cars battery today and i will see how it behaves from there.

 

The Mini is pretty demanding of the battery....probably only get 4-5 years max out of one, but maybe less dependent on location or if you got a good battery. I had that warning all winter due to my cold climate, but is ok now. Is a warning though...I will replace mine this fall.
