I had ordered the poly bushings from waymotorworks, for my 2016 R60 S ALL4, (PFR5-1825 MINI Countryman R60 4WD Rear Diff Rear Mounting Bushing). These are the whole bushing replacements, not just the inserts.
I was hoping I could just cut the rubber bushing on the car so I wouldn’t have to take out the whole cross member holding the differential to press it out etc.
The way the rubber is sticking to the walls though, it looks like the original bushing had a metal sleeve on the outside of the rubber (in addition to the inner sleeve around the bolt). So, I just would like to confirm with someone if that’s the case before I move forward, either cutting it out or pressing it out.
I was able to confirm it was a metal sleeve, so I was able to cut some of the rubber out of the way with a reciprocating saw and cut some vertical lines to relieve pressure. Popped right out as I was making the second line. I knicked the mount a little bit, but not to bad considering the first time I used a reciprocating saw... :-)
This may be an old post, but I am In search of the same bushing (I think Atleast) I need The bushing that the rear differential mounts into. Is this what you installed? And where did you get it at? I am In a lose of finding it.
thanks for the help.
