Hi, all! If you are reading this, I am still looking!
I am looking for an R53, preferably '05 or '06, but that is not necessary. A manual transmission is necessary, however. I would like something that runs solid and is in good cosmetic shape that hopefully won't need any work for a while because I am in no way "car guy", so any work will have to be done professionally.
I don't really care about color or features. The listed price is just a general range, and will of course vary depending on the individual car.
I am in Cincinnati. The closer, the better, but I am willing to travel for the right car.

Hi, all!
I am looking for my first MINI! I have decided that I would like a 2005 or 2006 R53. I would like something that runs solid and is in good cosmetic shape that hopefully won't need any work for a while because I am in no way "car guy", so any work will have to be done professionally.

hey check craigslist and Facebook marketplace around us. I’ve been watching a few of them just sit there. Yes I’m might be looking for another one.
It has some cosmetic dings, mostly rock chips on front and superficial dings on back, but mechanically is in great shape. Let me know if you have any questions.

Having owned a few MINI's I can attest that slick top makes for such a clean look and a noticeable difference with road noise (in addition to non run flat rubber). I sold my essentially one owner incredibly mint condition slick top red/white (see pic) to a local MINI enthusiast. Had to decide between a R53 and E46 decided to give up the more fun car :(
Patience is your friend. Keep looking at Autotrader, CarGurus and CL. You never know when a gem like mine shows up. Be ready to move fast and don't hesitate to buy long distance. In fact there was a one owner equally mint grey metallic R53 (2005) that was listed on Autotrader in Portland OR with an ask of $8500 which sold within a few days.
