Group Input on potential JCW Purchase

Evening all. Been a while, but delving back into the Mini world with the consideration of a particular '15 JCW in the area.. Concern is mileage. Car currently sitting at 67k, 1 owner miles. Purely southern car based in North Florida.

Shooting up to see it tomorrow and planning a pre-buy inspection at a local shop. Love to hear the communities input on things to look at with that mileage and such. Mechanically, "supposedly" the car is in incredible shape.. Cosmetically, appears to be smaller items, but overall paint looks glossy and straight. Carfax report looks pretty credible.

Nonetheless, excited to be back into the Mini community, with this potentially being my 4th Mini...

Mileage is a little high for a 5 year old car, bit not crazy high. If it has been well maintained and a mechanic , who is very familiar with Minis checks it out and gives it a thumbs up, go for it. Were I you, I would also consider purchasing a good warranty for it. Good luck!

Agree on all of this. Would not normally consider with that mileage, but the price point is excellent here. I had a mechanic buddy see it today. Mentioned minimal cosmetic concerns, but felt no real concern Mechanically. I would be doing a pre buy inspection at a local shop first.

To add to my original post...

The only real negatives.. No moon roof, no HUD.

But can probably live without with the goal being a weekend canyon carver.

Well, that would put you in very rare company, as they only imported about 33 manual transmission F56 JCW's in 2015...mine is one of the first to arrive. If you would please give me the VIN and color combo, as I have been keeping a record of all manual transmission JCW's in the USA for 2015.....darn few of them! I may have that one already.

That's good news about the mileage as mine still only has very low miles still. They are solid apparently! :-) I haven't had any issues except I prefer a tighter shifter and I may go with a short sift kit someday...but for now, it's perfect! And why would you want a sunroof anyway? LOL! I don't have a sunroof or a center screen even....it's got the nice JCW seats and a few extras but rather stripped down, and to my liking.

Agree about the sunroof. When I have had them, in the past, I rarely opened them. No big screen here either, just a very nice all black 2015 MC with only 32000 miles. Love this car. Next one will be a new S, in a year or so.

To update on this one.. I did not pull the trigger, but still considering.. Mechanically, car was strong.. Drive train was good, no leaks.. Pre-Buy inspection from a Euro garage had a thumbs up mechanically, especially at the price..

Cosmetically was a different story.. Paint was...... Well, glossy, but heavily swirled. Would need some good paint correction, potentially wet sanding. Rear bumper had the traditional scars from loading crap in the boot. Passenger glass had... Damage to it I had not seen on glass.. Almost appeared claw marks or maybe sharp objects had been run along glass in a dollar size area. Several trim pieces were broken, sagging or missing all together.. Front splitter, due to clips were hanging loose on a couple areas, Passenger external A Pillar was cracked, JCW door sill kick plates were missing, shift boot was separated at the bass.

Dealer has been willing to work with me and the current price is a good one for an F56, even with the minor issues mentioned. May still be a doable deal.
