What's up! My name is Conrad, I live in NJ (unfortunately) and although I don't get my license until march, I have decided on purchasing a mini! working with my budget, most likely a JCW.. Luxury and Technology kit, along with a few other things.. But before I decide to pay forward that down payment, I'd like to learn a bit more, and get some advice from owners!

Welcome! And, anyone who is able to buy a JCW MINI as their first vehicle does NOT get to complain about being from Jersey! I'm from Jersey, and am 41, and am Senior Programmer for my company, and can't afford a JCW!

 

^ Haha, Point taken.. I guess being a "Kid" with little financial responsibility helps.. But don't get me wrong, the folks aren't putting a dollar into this thing. Been working hard for a while:D

good thing about jersey is there are LOTS of places you can drive around in your JCW!
only thing i hate about jersey is they can get pretty uptight about tints on your car

 

yeah, heard that before haha... I'm going to be moving to cali for school about 8 months after I get my mini, so i'll have a really nice road trip to break her in!

 

Congrats! (I saw your other thread about getting a JCW vs an S btw). Anyway, it feels GREAT buying your first car all on your own. I did it with my last car, granted it was used (no down payments), and yes my parents were by my side. But zero financial help came from them Have fun with the purchase!
