Hello all,

I'm looking for some advice/experiences some people have had with varies types of aftermarket End Links out there. I'm currently driving a 2007 Mini Cooper S on stock suspension and recently installed a H&R 22mm Rear Sway Bar. However, it's likely that I may have worn out the OEM end links (due to the extra thickness of the new RSB) as I am now hearing a clunking sound whenever there is suspension travel.

Atla appears to sell a pretty good pair at a decent price but I was wondering if anyone else had other recommendations.

 

If the end links are OEM from 2007 they were probably done before you swapped the sway bar.

Nothing wrong with a new set of OEM end links, especially since still on otherwise stock suspension. Most aftermarket end links use pillow ball ends, which are not the greatest for street use. While being direct and firm, they also transmit noises from the suspension really well. If you want quiet, there are few end link choices available.

If I was going to go aftermarket, I would choose something like these, since they use OEM style ball joints:

If you are hearing noises and trying to fix that going with the Alta is not the fix. I never use them in my shop as they just clunk and rattle. Any links with hiem joints will end up making noise.

We have our sealed ball sockets with steel center rods. This allows you max clearance from other suspension components, but the sealed ball sockets keep it quiet and not needing any service later.

If you want to go cheap, just go back with a set of stock end links as you only need adjustable if you are trying to corner weight the car. It's a myth that the bigger sway bar breaks the end links as companies that sell sway bars tell customers that all the time to sell them links when they buy the bar.

Go with the OEM end links. They work best. Especially since you aren’t lowered.

 

Lemforder are OE and the best quality imho

 

Agree with Way - I know from personal experience that Alta end links are fine, but noisy. Haven't used his sealed end links, but will next time.

The aftermarket ones I got were just wonky. Ended up getting OEM spec links from Rock Auto and haven't had an issue since.
