2006 S Convertible JCW

Year: 2006
Make: MINI
Model: Convertible
Price: $7900
Mileage: 73000
Color: Chili Red
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): SouthEast

Excellent Condition.
First gen R52 with JCW 1.6L Supercharged
VIN WMWRH33506TF89356
73,000 miles
I've had it since Oct 2016 and have service records back to 2012.
I've never had a single drop of rain or leak from the top nor have I had any issues with the functioning of the top. Best convertible top I've ever owned.
You can lower the top from the key fob!
Clutch is great. No issues.
No diagnostic lights.
Super fun to drive. Makes that great exhaust sound when decelerating.

Tons of great accessories in the JCW trim:
Heated seats
Mudpuddle lights
Fog lights
Interior ambiance lights
Rear parking sensor
Cruise control
Stereo control on steering wheel
...and more

Auxiliary jack and already set up for XM radio

Cons are:
2006 Navigation screen in center
Driver seat shows wear
Blemish on driver side bumper from a 2mph tap
We've had the power steering system proactively under our watch for a small leak since this is a common issue with this model. Changed hoses and clamps and cleaned around the area to detect if there is a leak. Need to get back under there to see if it is greasy. It functions properly though.

I'm selling because I have to spend money on my old house - water and drainage issues. Can't enjoy a convertible if lungs are full of mold.

Make a good offer.

Sold.

Brand new rear belt line trim

2006 JCW R52 NoVA

Thank you Rhi and Tom! You guys are my favorite TN residents! I made it home ok. Car has a new home in Northern Va in Ashburn. I'm going to attempt the clutch, rear seal, inner ball joints, control arm bushings, struts in the next 1-2 months and clean up the oil leaks. (position sensor and oil pan gasket) Ive never done a clutch before but I'm watching lots of ModMini videos and I have the tools, space and I don't need the car on the road for a daily. (As this is my third) I could use a contact when I get in a real jam but I think I can do the whole job. (Anyone from DC Metro Minis reading this?)
I dare say I bought it because it is a Gen 1, ragtop, and its a JCW. Its so CRAPTASTIC! I Love the boost and the pops and gurgle! Its so fun! I hope to get it in shape for the summer and maybe do the MTTS from Frederick to Asheville.

My wife hates me cause I spend too much time in the garage. My kids hate me because I bought another stick. Tough love! They will learn soon enough.
My 2 car (or 4 mini) garage will hold 1 more mini so you never know!
Ill be selling the R56 on CL soon. Its an 08,Garage queen, JCW engine tune/exhaust/intake/big brake only 40K miles and it pulls better than the Gen1 JCW. 15 lbs of boost. (but it gets no attention as it doesnt pop and gurgle) Note: If I find a sidewalk JCW R52 , I might just pull the trigger.

Wondered who in NOVA got this. I literally was buying ticket to fly and get this in November when the price increased. Ended up good for me anyways, as I bought a 78K mile 2008 JCW sidewalk instead . Good luck, I thought it had way too many projects for me to take on for the price

It's a JCW car with the sidewalk edition package. They are rare. I know there was one in Denver for sale.

Those sidewalk JCW R52s are so sweet! Did you have much work to do on yours?

@jschroter - It needs the oil filled upper engine mount on pass side, needs PS hoses. Will probably do a water pump and supercharger service on it also. Not throwing any codes or has any leaks, new tires and its has chrono package.
And I swear the top is new (maybe replaced by first owner?).

I've heard from a mechanic that specializes in minis to never so a supercharger service. I'm not sure exactly why. Maybe Way from Ways motot works can chime in.

Well I am doing it . Drained the rear out a few minutes ago. Plenty of fluid and it looked clear. Good news .

Taking a long time...

@BoostedBlueToyotas and anyone else who would like to chime in:

Im making slow progress and you have me thinking about changing the WaterPump and doing the Supercharger service since I have everything apart. Did you replace any seals for the Supercharger? Or just the two Water Pump seals? Throttle body seal? Green gasket for SC?
Ive got a lot going on here so I should probably just focus on getting the clutch back in. I messed up putting in the main seal as I put in in too far I think . (not flush) so I ve ordered another one (This time genuine Mini) and ill try again. I also ordered the transmission seal. (Modmini doesn't change his though when he does his clutch jobs) Pelican recommends it though. Im sending the first clutch back (Valeo setup with single mass flywheel) as it arrived with a damaged throw out bearing (broken plastic holder). It was also missing fasteners. (I admit, I shouldn't have bought a Amazon warehouse deal clutch for $225) At this rate, its going to take me a couple of more weeks. I also ordered a 10 pcs Blue silicone cooling hose setup and the plastic bits. I didn't like the clamps it came with so I ordered a bunch of spring clamps from McMaster-Carr. I also ordered a new but inexpensive power steering pump (Bosch) and the hoses. Heck, I ordered a new starter as Im guessing what is on the car is the original. Oh yeah, I removed the oil filter and changed the gasket as it seemed oil was leaking from that too. I didn't change the o rings for the oil cooler though. Im thinking about going back and doing those. Whats left? Should I read up on changing the crankshaft pulley? I think Rhi and Tom changed the alternator but im not positive. This car is getting some sweet preventive maintenance! Inner ball joints and power flex bushings are installed now...But, its one step forward and two steps back. I wish Id just focus on the clutch! Oh...but while im in there I might as well change the thermostat and oil pan gasket...does this happen to anyone else?

As long as I have it apart, I might as well replace the ___.

My list on the sidewalk with 78K

Replaced supercharger oil, it was little dirty but level was fine, came out of both drain holes
New water pump (comes with one gasket to connector in block)
New block connector (preventitive and mine ended up being corroded)
Some new hoses (thermostat to water pump, TB to air tube etc ...)
New thermostat and metal housing (to replace existing plastic housing)
New crankshaft position sensor because mine got soaked in oil from that green connector from intake duct to SC
New tensioner
New passenger side motor mount
New JCW filter (mine ended up being filthy)
New valve cover gasket
New valve cover screws/bolts (mine were rusty) $130 for the kit from ECS :O
New spark plugs
New knock sensor because I had intake manifold off
New O-rings for fuel injectors
New PS hoses on resevoir
New Coolant overflow bottle (stock)
Change the oil
Install ECS silicon water hose kit

Going to put on new shifter cables (since I have airbox out) and cravenspeed short shifter. Added bonus is will be replacing semi rusty
exhaust connection between header and exhaust pipe
