Hello,

Thats the one you are installing? You dont need to disconnect that hose or tube.

How is that a cold air intake when the air filter is in the warmest part of the engine bay?

I bought my 2011 mcs with this setup. I found that the vacuum hose was missing. What is the function of this hose and where should I look to locate it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I cant help you as I am not familiar with these modifications. If it were me, I would return it to stock in order to eliminate any potential future performance issues. Others more familiar with these mods disagree. I am old school.

Ok, i think i figured this out, its for a short time on Early n18 engines that dont have the updated line that cuts around the side, but does have the heat sensor on the side and upgraded the older design intake but to the newer one. 8/2010-5/2011 US cars.

So they have this intake boot:

https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...h/13717627501/

But what MINI did since for a short time you would not have the long hose that comes around the back from 5/2011 up, here is that hose, https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_4587

11157632333 5/2011+ Cooper S has the hose and the blind plug is not there, the senor is also on the side and is plugged in. This is when MINI changed the evap system for emission i guess.

Then they put this dummy vent pipe plug that looks like it shoudl connection from somewhere else. Put it just plugs it for those production months:

11157618255

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...g/11157618255/

So you just have the dummy plug there and no hose, but you have the sensor beside it plug in, so you are ok.

So as far as N18 can go that little hose can be plugged off?

I currently have it connected to the inlet of my OCC with the PCV tube, since I didn't know what to do with it.

Is there another dummy plug available for the engine block side? Would be an option for deleting that pipe...

You could probably just find a plug that has the right thread at Home Depot, seal with teflon tape or Permatex. No idea what it is offhand though.
