Replacing front struts on an r53 equipped with hid headlights?

I read somewhere that you have to perform an extra step and or be careful due to the adjuster or the like being attached to the strut.

Which strut is it on? Any other details would be appreciated.

I don't see any reference to it in either of mod mini's related videos.

Thanks

Sounds like you are referring to the headlight level sensor. It’s not on the strut, it is mounted on the control arm.

Installing the struts will not need to mess with this sensor.

Appreciated. Could have sworn someone said to be careful in that area and I sure as heck will be.

Thanks.

The strut pinch bolt on the axle carrier is the one potentially trouble spot. It has a tendency to be stubborn so treat that with some care. Penetrating oil and heat may be helpful if the car is exposed to a lot of water, salt or environment that promotes corrosion.

Ahh....yes...before reading this part I had it off only after using a $27 dollar can of Kroil and a big pipe attached to my ratchet. I am going to chase the bolt with a tap and use anti-sieze when reinstalling it.
