Lower motor mount torque specs?

I'm wondering about the four bolts on the plate that connects the lower engine mount to the engine. The photo below is from p. 110-24 of the Bentley manual - I've put red arrows pointing at three of the bolts. (The fourth one is kind of out of sight.) They have 13mm heads on them, so the bolts are - what? - maybe 8mm? The table on p. 110-27 says: "lower engine vibration damper to oil pan - 100 Nm (74 ft-lb)"

Wow - this seems like a lot of torque for a bolt this small. Am I looking at the wrong item in the table? Or is that the right spec?

I've tightened them to "damn tight" but I don't really trust my calibration these days.

Thanks for your help!

this thread has info on the upper but not the lower. 50ft-lbs sound more like it, though.

The bolts front the bracket to the oil pan are 45Nm or 33 Ft/LBS (Newtis)..they only go into the aluminum oil pan some don't overtighten.

Okay - I think I found the right torque on newTIS (I didn't know this resource existed - wow!)

The bolts are shown here, and the link to the torque spec is here:

22 11 7AZ - Bottom engine carrier bracket holder to oil sump - M10x20 - 8.8 - 38 Nm

(38 Nm = 28 lb-ft)

Thanks 1qwwkmini - I think we (you and Bentley and me) are talking about different bolts. They one's I'm working on have a 13mm head.

I think I did find the right spec, though - see my other post.

Thanks for your help...

Our quotes are getting out of sync here. I'll do some further investigation...

19AZ Stabilizer bracket to oil sump....
Don't know of an oil sump on top of the motor.

Torques specs are a real PITA...no matter you found what you were looking for!!!

Yep, you're right. The picture on this page (about halfway down the page) shows the same bolts I'm asking about, and following the link to 11 12 19AZ shows the torque at 45 Nm. Weird.

So I guess I'll go with something between 38 Nm and 45 Nm.

Thanks for all your help!

Use 38Nm, it's plenty especially in aluminum.

Same bolt (size etc in aluminum) trans mount to transmission is 38Nm...https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/r...earbox/5XY1ifY

I just came in from the garage where I went with 28 lb-ft (=38 Nm) and it felt good and tight, but not scary. Then I saw your post - glad we agree!

Thanks again for all your help!
